It's just that instead of doing math, they're processing messages. Notifications in, new events ('calls') out. I don't know if SPUs are a one-off exotic aberration or if this is here to stay, but even if they are, from what I understand under CUDA etc it is also either impossible, or at the very least strongly discouraged, to exchange data between workgroups, never mind calling code. But like I said it may be silly to map event handling on stream processing. bert |
