Feh - graphics is easy (apart from a few remaining gnarly topics). The hard bit about graphics is content creation. Almost everything these days is becoming database programming. Multiprocessor parallelism - databases. Content creation pipelines - databases. Massively multiplayer - databases. It's a shame really, because ten years ago when I was doing my CS degree, I totally bodged around that part of the course. "I'm a games programmer" I thought "I'll never need to know how to code databases". Doh. Time to buy a book.
