Hi, I am wondering how I can compress large amount of movement data (like from motion capture). I am thinking to compress the data first to determine the control points, and after that, I can make almost the same movement/curve based on the control points, perhaps using B-spline etc. But my problem is about how to compress that data, or in other words, how to determine the control points ? I`ve tried reading some books and papers like Grouping and `Parameterizing irregularly Spaced Points for Curve Fitting` by A. Ardeshir Goshtaby and `Curve Fitting by a One Pass Method with a Piecewise Cubic Polynomial` by Kozo Ichida and Takeshi Kiyono. But I think I still haven`t found a suitable algorithm for doing the compression yet, or perhaps they are too difficult for me to read. I admit that I am a newbie in this field. I hope someone can tell me a good paper or book which I could learn about this `curve fitting`. Thank you. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? vote.yahoo.com - Register online to vote today! |
