So they were still using the basic quake3 tool chain, just that they based the PVS off of manually place portals and something that I assume is like the flood fill zone assignment Tom Forsyth mentioned. It wasn't particularly tight fitting PVS, but it did work better on the indoor/outdoor combination than q3 vis.exe, and thier baseline hardware was T&L so they weren't all that worried about sending extra geometry. |
