I have thought about wouldn't it be nice to be able to have a game with high detail human height from the ground, and be able to fly out in space and look down. Maybe some space/planet RTS game. There is the problem though "how much" do you model. Modelling the whole earth with cities is crazy. An uninhabited planet is easier. Something like C&C + Homeworld would be fun. I saw a demo that showed human height from ground of the entire earth filled with trees and water that you could fly out into space with all the planets and day/night with revolving planets. It was at nehe from memory - I don't think it had source code though. But I'm all for new research/ideas, if this new algorithm allows you to do things that weren't done before go for it. Just do a feasibility test first - make sure it works with most of the things you want to use it for. Hopefully you wont find out that "oh no it can't do bla, its useless" too late. Unfortunately you may not be able to "evaluate" their system. Perhaps get them to make some library or trial thing. Make sure it does what you want before you sign your life away. -Ryan De Boer |
