Suppose there is a piece of machine code. There is a theoretical program which could examine this code at runtime and make appropiate changes to alter it's behaviour. These chances would be simple (changing all [ds:eax] to [cs:eax], or adding prolog/epilog). Given that the actions of the machine code are not known in advance, the design of the code is arbitary (wierd flow, self-modifying etc are possible) and there can be no human intervention, what obstacles are there to a runtime analysis/modification program? Theoretical problems and theoretical solutions, however impractical, are relevant. I have a killer (simple) idea for copy protection but i need a little perspective first :) _________________________________________________________________ MSN Messenger - fast, easy and FREE! http://messenger.msn.co.uk |
