If you are talking about convex polygons and general planes, it's just the
Sutherland-Hodgeman algorithm, right?

There are at least two implementations on the Graphic Gems series, but I
wouldn't say any of the is the canonical. However, I've seen that many
people based his own on the code of the quake tools (including me).
