This just gets better and better.
I look forward to the ability to disable some menus to make it easier to read for a beginner that Alexey referred to in version 4.6.
Great work

Hi again Frank, Just one or little niggles with my latest install, this could be the way I have it configured, anyway here goes:-
Hitting F6 doesn’t give me the build HEX function it brings out the Clipboard Viewer Fly out. That is no big deal for me, well not as much as the next little niggle.
A previously compiled routine before I updated my GCB@Syn would compile and give me this warning:-
“Warning: Inaccurate microsecond delay due to use of variable at the current clock speed”
Not a big problem at the time as it would still compile, and program the device.
Now with the updated version, it gives me the same warning, compiles but does not write the program to the chip. I have to pick the HEX file up with my PICkit2 Programmer and write the chip which is a bit of a pain. Any suggestions?

Fixed (forgotten to delete SynWrites "internal use" of F-keys in config).

G@tool handles errors now this way: If the compiler generates a "Errors.txt", the messagewindow stays open. Afterwards comes an additional check, if the hexfiles timestamp is newer than the one before. If it is, the "flashXXX.bat" will be started. If the hexfile has still the old timestamp, G@Stool does not start flashing.
I also tried the SynWrites new feature to remove menu-items. I added a "SynHide.ini" which removes some items that had to to with html-coding. Thanks to Alexey for adding this feature.
Sorry, one more question.
I want to make a simple to use GCB IDE for PIC user only with PICkit 2 only.
So I don't want AVRdude GUI and WinPICPgm to show up in the Run menu.
But I cannot seem to find the number in the SynHide.ini file that will remove these.
Can those be hidden?
This is a great IDE. I love the SynHide.ini option.

How can I add the GCB help file (chm file) to syn IDE Help menu?
Not possible. A tricky way is, to put a copy of gcbasic.chm to the …\SynWrite\Readme folder and rename it to SynWrite.chm.
Also how do I remove the X and XX from the menu using the Synhide.ini? It doesn't recognize the names X or XX.
Not possible at the current version of SynWrite. If you want this feature added to SynWrite you can open a topic in the SynWrite-Forum.

Yes, but it seems that it's not possible via SynHide.ini. Open "Options" - "Internal Tools …" instead. Use the "Clear" Button to remove unwanted items. The similar way you can add your own entries for the "Run" menu.
I downloaded the latest Synwrite 4.6.570 and changed the SynHide file to include x and xx but I still get errors that they are unrecognized. I tried X and XX with same results.
What am I doing wrong?
One big thing I noticed and liked was the new look. (hopefully you can see the two screen shots below)
Was this also a change with 4.6.570?
I really like the way it looks.
I will definitely be posting postive reviews for this IDE.
I like Frank's idea of changing the name of the GCB help file. That should work fine.
I'm trying to make this simple for beginners so having the SynWrite help file visible will only confuse them.
I want to keep the rest so they can see all the credits for SynWrite and a way to donate as well.

I tried to make the new look of 4.6.570 work with Frank's additions but its beyond me.
I like the new look but I cannot get it to just run GCBASIC as Frank created.
Maybe Frank can explain how to get the new look with his GCB improvements.
Or I'll just have to wait until Frank updates to the new 4.6.570.
Until then I guess I'll stick with the original look.

I changed the new look to Aluminum and modified the tool bar look as well.
Thanks Frank. That was way easier than I thought.
I haven't loaded the beta yet so I will try that next.
I took what I have working and make a .zip of the folder to test on another PC.
I unzipped it on the new PC and it ran fine. Everything looked great until I tried to leave.
Then I got this error below in bold.
I unzipped it at the C:\ root directory so I'm not sure where this error is coming from.
I don't even have that path on my original computer where I zipped the file.
Any clues of where I should look?

Frank or Alexey,
When Frank's compilation window pops up and then disappears after a successful build, it leaves a gray area in the output window only blocking the first few lines. If I click on a line then the text appears and the gray disappears for that line.
Can this be fixed or is it a windows thing?

Hello guys,
have no time today, will have a look for the beta and the issues the next days.
Frank
Okay guys,

Added "x" "xx" items to known menuitems list Synhide.ini.
@All
As your "thank you" for Syn, you can write some review at:

1. Hiding x and xx
Add this to SynHide.ini (x is lower case):
x 0
xx 0
2. New look
… is SynWrites default look. Do this to change:
Options - Customize … - Colors - change "Toolbar theme …" to Aluminium
Frank
To make x work, use BETA of Syn. (Beta url is at Syn homepage)
I changed the new look to Aluminum and modified the tool bar look as well.

panel draw issue: better if u post Begreport to SW forum. With URL to tool exe, with tool parameters. So i can reproduce.
