My point was all picaxe chips have sod all variables and peek and poke seems normal.
The ram start address must be a constant and even arduino sites say must be programmed in asm.... but they are <1$ so seem attractive for a simple project....if you're making 1000's.

@Kato. The post is not the change to the compiler but the change to the message file. Sorry.
I will post Release Candidate 23 in the next day of two but that WILL NOT have the fix for the AVRrc compiler issue raised in this post.
I should add. Hugh and I have discussed this AVRrc issue. When Hugh get time he will look to resolve.
