I'll firstly just take this opportunity to thank Evan for all the time and effort he puts in to this - amazing. Also of course Hugh for his original work, Angel and all the others that help out for GCB and the forum.
I've been trying to find out what versions of Windows that GCBasic will run on - maybe I've missed it, but it's not obvious and searching hasn't helped.
Have been running GCBasic 0.98.07 2021-07-24 (Windows 32 bit) : Build 1005 on an old laptop running Vista 32 (no comments please!) and it's worked just fine for years, but wanted to update to the latest GCB. I don't ever use the GCGB (Graphical) by the way, so don't need that.
Unfortunately 8.0.19(x86) is not supported on this OS and so the installed failed, so I'm wondering if perhaps it's only part of GCB that needs .NET 8.0 and perhaps some other download version will suit?
Fortunately it left the old version and SynWrite intact (it appears), so luckily it hasn't ruined all that.
I searched quite a bit, but didn't find anything that says what version of Win that GCB will/win not run on, so can somebody help me on that please?
I'd ideally like to try GCStudio (if possible on this OS), but would like to still have the option of going back to SynWrite if I have any issues with GCStudio.
Thanks

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
GC Studio minimum OS requirements are Windows 7 service pack 1 with at least KB4474419, KB2999226 updates installed and a minimum display resolution of 1024x768.
the OS can be 32bits or 64bits.
so no, it will not run on your specific OS.
if it's paramount to you to run GC Basic on that machine I can craft for you an updated legacy GCB that will run on that machine (synwrite only). if you need it just tell me.

That would be great if you could, as I'd really like to have he updated GCB, even if it's SynWrite (which I've been using up to this point).
Could I suggest that at some point if you get a chance, you put mention of the Win 7 (and maybe a link or something to the details) so that others don't have this issue?
Thanks

There you go, unzip this file directly in your C:/ drive.
GCB@Syn-v1.1.25.build_1484.zip
If you have GCB installed, allow to replace files, this will update your existing installation.
If GCB is not present in your machine, you can use it directly, just run ide.exe inside the decompressed folder.
This is an equivalent for the v1.1.25.build_1484, it is the same as current version of today.

Works very nicely. All the tools are hidden in the folders but the menu system in SynWrite is limited to nine items.
All the folders have complete toolchain which is brilliant. Well done!
