I have the following on the way for testing:

    http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F18313

    http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F18326

    http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F18346

    http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F18857

    http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F18877

All of them have a similar core and all the new peripherals but different
    package sizes.

With that set I am sure we can generate lots of demo code, including
    the 24-bit Signal Measurement Timer.

    EDIT:

Looks like I was wrong. according to the Product Finder https://www.microchip.com/ParamChartSearch/Chart.aspx?branchID=1012

The First 3 dont have the 24-bit Signal Measurement Timer only the 188xx devices do.

I think I need to also order

    http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F1614 as a 14 Pin Device and
http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC16F1618 as a 20 pin device to compleat the set.

I dont see an 8 PIN PIC with Signal Measurement Timer though.

I dont see an 8 PIN PIC with Signal Measurement Timer though.

I think it's just the way in general: If you're making a small electronic device you can use a 16F18877 in a 44 pin QFN package which takes up less space than an 8 pin DIP. Doesn't help people like us who like DIP packages.

However, PIC12F1612 seems to have a 24 bit signal measurement timer (2 of them) and is an 8 pin device.
Have you used the parametric serach tool on Microchip's website? (did you choose 1 timer and not include 2 timers?) http://www.microchip.com/ParamChartSearch/chart.aspx?branchID=1012

        Thanks Peter,

Just took another look with the search tool and I managed to find it. Previously I was serching with PPS selected too. I am in two minds if I should order some PIC12F1612 devices or wait for a new device with PPS too. I have a meating with Microchip on Friday about the future so will bring it up there and see if any are in the pipeline.

        Cheers
        Chris
