Is there any roadmap for USB support? I asked this question a couple years ago and I recall Hugh said it would have to wait for long variable support.

Count me in for any testing, I have pretty complete USB tools for both AVR and PIC. Just let me know what you need...

Not yet, sorry! But it would be a lot easier to implement with the compiler now than it was a couple of years ago. Interrupt handling is nicer, and it's possible to allocate variables to particular memory locations. Maybe a few more months!

Just wondering if there is any further progress or indications of when it might perhaps be coming?
    Thanks

Hi Everyone. I am also very interested in this as I am sure a lot of others are. Also interested in ethernet and sd card, I did see in older posts that Anobium was busy with these,

    Thanks,
    Marc

    An update.

Current focus is to release the next release of Great Cow Basic. This is very close - just really need to get some volenteers to test AVR timers. Any volenteers? Please we need help.

The next release of Great Cow Basic is a stable platform for the future.

USB - driver. We have two streams of work. One Microchip and one ATMEL. Both have some working capabilities in terms of communications etc. Both streams need further work to complete the USB driver and a lot of testing. I think we need support specific chips to ensure we focus our limited efforts.

SD Card - SD Card is completed in terms of all the Initialisation and Read operations. The create file and update file are the only outstanding development. The current SD driver requires the next release of GCB to function. This is my next piece of work with Dimitri.

Ethernet - The Ethernet driver fort the ENC28J60 device is started. If someone wants to help then please let me know. More hands needed.

We do have a number of new drivers also in the next release but SD Card, Ethernet and USB drivers are next on the mega list.

Thanks for the quick response Anobium.

This is all great news, I look forward to the new release.
I consider myself very much a novice in the electronics and programming fields as I rely on the hardware files, but get very excited about learning about these new things.

Dont know how much help I could be but if I could help Id be happy to.

    Thanks again,
    Marc

Thanks for your efforts Anobium. I'm very time limited, but am interested in USB Serial, USB HID and USB SPP (PIC) and might be able to help a little as far as testing perhaps. I have mostly PIC18F stuff at the moment, 28 and 40pin. The only AVR I have is an ATINY13.

Count me in for testing on the USB side too.
I have 16F1455, 16lf1455, 18F25k50 and 18F2550 avalable for testing and can get others as needed.
I am not set up for Atmel Development but have a fullhouse of PIC tools.
I have worked with USB but only on the PIC32MX platform to date.

    Cheers
    Chris
