i'm in over my head here... may not know what i'm talking about... but,=20 should the order of a and b matter in the GCD(a:b) function??? if neither a nor b is the GCD, then the order doesn't matter if a is the GCD, it works fine but if if b is the GCD it returns 0 maybe this is the way it's supposed to work, but it seems strange to me. -- GraphCalc v4.0.1 -- Steve Wasmund at by...@gm... -- windows XP -- re-creatable -- no error; returns 0 as GCD if the second # listed is the GCD -- i didn't expect the order to matter this probably doesn't need to go to discussion. however, an off-list reply= =20 would be appreciated. thanks and great work. this is a great calculator. steve |

I think there is a little error at the newest version of graphcalc: if the solution is a very big number (like 1,987*10^54) then the solution of 1/ans is wrong! Equally by very little numbers like 1,897*10^ -34 near 0! ans does not work reliable in this cases! It would be a good idea to make roompolarcoodinates like r=3D3*phi+2*theta in 3d coordinates! Thank you for making of graphcalc Frank Feibicke |

Hello! I have been trying to install graphcalc for linux v0.0.1 on my mandrake=20 linux (10.1) box, but I can't determine where the functions that graph3d.cppcalls are located. The only functions that are giving me problems are the gl* functions. Does anyone know where these functions should be coming from= ? I have looked all over and the closest thing I can find is a package called= =20 pyopengl. I got that and installed it. Is this the correct package?=20 I still get the same errors. How does graphcalc indicate where to find thes= e=20 functions? I'm a little new at this, but I would very much like graphcalc to work on= =20 linux! Some functions that are giving me problems (on make): glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW); glLoadIdentity(); glDrawBuffer(GL_BACK); glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); glShadeModel(GL_SMOOTH); glClearDepth(1.0f); And the errors I get are attached at the end. I have installed both ginac and qt as far as I can tell. Thanks in advance for the help. My name is Matt (mat...@gm...) and i have graphcalc version 4.0.1on Windows XP. My error is that when you have a tangent line active and you have cleared the equation and wish to click elsewhere than the equation box= ,=20 a series of "please enter equation first" boxes come up. After a while it= =20 switches to the output section and no more boxes appear. Perhaps if you wer= e=20 to have it automatically disable tangent lines, etc. when an equation is no= t=20 entered then this would fix the problem. Thanks. |

Marvin, Actually, both of the work around equations you gave me work on GraphCalc v4.01. I entered: x^3^(1/5) x^(1/5)^3 x^3^0.2 The weird thing is that: x^0.6 does not work for me. Anyway, thanks for the workarounds, I hope you get them to work. -Mike Arrison GraphCalc On May 04 10:35, Marvin D. Marvin, Thanks for the notice. While x^(3/5) does indeed have a domain that includes negative numbers, neither GraphCalc, nor any other graphing calculator I know, graphs this region. This is due to the fact that (3/5) is evaluated first and transformed into a decimal that is very very close 0.6 (but not exactly). And while x^0.6 does exist, x^(very very close to 0.6) does not. -Mike On May 03 21:08, Marvin D.
