I am getting ready to order PSO and a broadband adapter. I also downloaded= the PSOLoader and read the instructions. My first question is--Does the= PSOLoader have to be run from a Dos prompt? Who should I talk to about= learning about porting linux? Where can I go, or what should I do to learn= about this kind of stuff? |

If you are looking to port stuff to linux, I would suggest having a decent knowledge of ansi C and c++, maybe some ASM knowledge as well. You should also check out maybe "Understanding the Linux Kernel" by O'Reilly. --- Mike Beeson <be...@il...> wrote: > I am getting ready to order PSO and a broadband > adapter. Does the "region" of the broadband adapter have to match the region of the GameCube? How about memory cards, are they region locked? / Regards, David Remahl - --- PGP key information--- pub 1024D/ 87256085 2003/06/12 David Remahl <da...@it...> Web: http://ittpoi.com/david_remahl.asc Fingerprint: 0C38 293C 86A9 7756 9CEA 4ED6 1651 620E 8725 6085 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (Darwin) iD8DBQFAKc0qFlFiDoclYIURAn1/AJwKgbdKmTQ6x2sDNHHRXLSQ7TFD3QCcCy/P 2D/rHijmoDvv4Qh0pkHWsEk= =93Gc -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Yea, they're not locked, but you can't have more than one region of data on a card (i.e. mixing data from Japanese and American games one card). Apparently they use different formatting/file indexing procedures such that they're not intercompatible. Along these lines, I'm not sure but I guess you couldn't load a saved game from one region's disc to another. Dave |

This is not correct. I have saves from both japanese, US and PAL games on one single original Nintendo 251 memory card. I've had no problems with this whatsoever, using freeloader. Interesting... maybe the 251 has a different format? In my experiences, anytime I save a foreign game on a memory card it formats the card and wipes all domestic data --- Kjetil Svenheim <kje...@ne...> wrote: > This is not correct.
