The GameCube and Wii have a non-RGB framebuffer so you cannot use a normal
framebuffer-based X server.
That's why a special X server that translates RGB to YUY2 on the fly was
developed by nuvalo. That X server, though, is unaware of the new video driver
possibilities and still hardcodes support for a single video mode.
In summary:
- you cannot use a normal X server or you get wrong colors
- the existing X driver needs to be fixed to properly support more videomodes
