[Ganttproject-news] removing empty space

I'm attempting to produce a Gantt project file but have not found a way 
to get rid of
the empty space at the start of the chart from today untill project 
begins, which is not
until Sept 04.  Its quite a waste of space and forces things together 
unneccessarily.

Is there a way to get rid of blank space at the start and the end of the 
project?
