Having defined the resources for the project I keyed in
"Days Off" and then planned tasks to be done. When it
came to allocating a resources to the tasks the "Days
Off" were ignored. The end date does not take into
account "Days Off".

Also noted by me in verion 2.0.3, Java Runtime 1.5.0_10.

Makes the application unusable for me.

I agree with other comments - a bit of a showstopper of a problem.

The problem 1. and 2. doesnt allow to use the GanttProject for scheduling :(
1.Days off have no impact on a project schedule
2.No Calendar, so no way to add public or bank holydays, so no way to have a correct schedule

It is not absolutely true. You can modify holidays for a particular project using UI. You can select one of the existing holiday calendars from a list when you create a new project. You can add your own calendar to that list using your favorite text editor and not very complicated XML format.

Thanks for reply, that all was true.

    1) i had to create my calendar into "i18n_en_canada.calendar" file, i replaced there calendar name and all the holidays - this worked
but i couldnt add my own .calendar file

    2) i also found that I can click the right mouse button on the chart and select "edit public holidays" but this change would not affect my calendar and change in my calendar will not affect my project..

since there is a workaround for the calendar issues - the GanttProject seems more usefull now. It would be nice to see "DAYS OFF" problem solved! :)
