Here is the very first game on the engine. An implementation of a game on the engine is called a module. Hence this is module Paths_of_Glory.BETA.ver.0.1 on GameTop.
The module comes complete with images. I am very greateful for using the images taken from the VASSAL module Paths of Glory found here. All tribute to the makers of that module.
A few changes has been made to the images in the VASSAL module. All SVG files have been replaced by PNG files. That was necessary because the rendering of the SVG files in Qt was buggy. I have also deleted some images from the VASSAL module that was not strictly needed.
A few restrictions apply for the time being. It is only possible to play the Classical Map. There are no Optional Cards. Some right-click functionality is missing, but this is convenient functionality, not essential functionality. It was not my ambition to make a complete game of Paths of Glory. That would take unnecesary much time. This module is first and foremost a test of the engine.
The module has a Linux version and a Windows version. Later an Android version and a MacOS version will be added. An iOS version will be attepted later. Regarding the MacOS version, I first need to get hold of the hardware to test whether the version actually works.
Here are the downloads.
WARNING: when you click on the links below an automatic download starts
After the engine is running, the very first thing you must do is to create a user key and a urid.
Go to Edit->Settings.
Go to the Keys tab.
Press the Create a User Key button. Select a file to save the key. The file will have ending .gkey.
Press the Create a Urid button. Select a file to save all urids. The file will have ending .guid.
Make sure you create a user key before you create a urid. The user key and urid is a pair that belongs together.
You may create another userkey/urid to simulate an opponent. You change sides by changing the user key. Press the Select file button.
