Only slightly. I went there a few years back, for the Sonar festival, and
did see some of the downsides at first hand. Wandered off the touristy
bits, and witnessed a purse-snatching. Lots of interestingly militant
graffiti as well. But then I live in LA, and there's quite a few areas here
that I wouldn't go near after dark, same with London, and I'm sure, same
with pretty much anywhere  (and I'm not going to pass comment on Israel;).

Hmm, speaking of wandering off the path...
