[GD-Windows] losing focus and dx8 sound volume

When you lose focus, dx8 stops taking notice of any volume setting you do on
sounds; does anyone know of a useful way of fixing or dealing with this
problem? (The best workaround i've thought of so far is notice when you
regain focus, and reset all the sound volumes; oh so pretty).
