FWIW, I don't think there'd be any trouble talking about PS2 issues here, given the rather more open approach taken with the likes
of the PS2 linux project. The forums for that are public (i.e. you don't have to sign anything or buy anything to read them) and PS2
technical details are openly discussed...

In fact, we positively encourage people to learn about/play with our hardware, so long as you don't do anything naughty.

Obviously I don't speak for other platforms where you might still be nuked from orbit.
