[GD-General] hemisphere lighting

Hi,

I've read the sheets from the Meltdown presentations and stumbled again on
Hemisphere lighting. I think I know that it is used to represent the sky
colour using cubemaps that are modulated with an objects' material/textures.
Is there any more information on hemisphere lighting besides those meltdown
presentations?

I've found specific papers using google or NEC's CiteSeer....
