Hello,

I bought a CD called '6,000 Sound Effects' from Amazon. Not the best
quality (many of them sound like they were recorded off the TV!) but
some of them might do the job if you don't mind mono. It's about what
you might expect for under a tenner. They are royalty-free. It's
certainly not a total solution, and may only provide one or two sound
effects you can actually use.

As for music, it's not hard to come up with ambient music (ala Tomb
Raider, Populous:The Beginning etc) with a MIDI keyboard if you have a
few spare hours (you only need a few chords!).
