As I only reboot (or take a system down) to do OS/kernel upgrades,
so that's the interesting point.  For me a reboot does mean a new
OS. Beyond that as a feature it gets used (in the Galeon and XEmacs
cases in particular) as their versions increment much more rapidly
than my installed kernels) -- so I'll upgrade Galeon, kill the
running instance, and then restart Galeon and restore the prior
session to be back where I was.
