That would be nice, but most people I know stick to one OS (per machine, at least), so I'd consider it less important for it to work across OSs. Laptops only offer this support in the guise of extended runtimes for a given OS boot. I'd though you were considering context extension across multiple boots, where each reboot may be to a different (version of) an OS.
