Guido-- If you need a place to host the list, I am happy to host it on one of my collocated servers. I already have list management software setup on one of them (http://list.entelepon.com) for a private "BREW technical share" group that I setup a while back with another three companies (and then no one used)-- this is the same software that source forge uses, but it is configured to only allow members access to the archives. It depends on how feature rich you want to make this, but it's also possible to setup a private Wiki. I have this setup for my company and am very happy with it as a place for everyone to keep notes and upload files. It might be cool if the list has something like this so that people can share files and more permanent information that may not need discussion in the main thread, or one could have the wiki send an email to the list every 24 or 72 hours with a summary of recent changes to it, so that folks know if someone uploaded a file or edited a page on the wiki. The only issue is of course that this is hosted on Entelepon servers, and so people may associate ownership with me or Entelepon. I don't want any kind of ownership of this past setting up the software, I just don't have time, and maybe other folks would be reluctant to participate in a list with the URL branded by another company? We could do name based hosting (i.e.: mobiledevelopersthatrock.com or something), or host a similar software setup at a web hosting company that gives us control of the SMTP daemon (and cron) for the list software and PHP for the wiki, though it would be best to have an automatic backup script to someone's server, since most of the budget hosting folks don't keep backups. And that makes total sense for a SourceForge list. ;) -bill! ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
