I have encountered the same problem as well on some (many?) keyboards,
with the four arrow keys not being detected when pressed at the same time.

I think it has to do with the wiring or the microcontroller inside some 
keyboards that groups keys by 4, but I can't find a link anymore.

(and I don't know of any workaround.)
