Unfortunately I have a bad new for your case.
There is two reasons for that.

- This coding way was really dangerous because many things cas appen to
your variable even during the loop time.

- Benoit have to remove  this ability to resolve a conflit on the new Just
In Time Compiler.

So you  have to walk your code

But its not so long

Just comment the variable in the header
'Private MyVar as type
And add it  in the fuctions
Dim MyVar as type.

We win also the ability to declare var every were in the code.
Even :

for myVar as Integer = 0 to 10
Next

[Gambas-user] Loop variable question

Hi List,

Recently after a few  years I upgraded a machine to Mint 19.1 and latest 
ppa stable gambas.

My long running code won't run properly .... wherever I have a loop 
variable  which was declared  in the general declarations at the top of 
the form rather than in a sub, an error comes up saying 'loop variable 
can't be global'.

Has this changed in Gambas in recent times to make things stricter or is 
there a setting I can switch on to allow the old code to run, or do I 
have to go through my whole program and fix my bad coding.

Sorry for the delay. It happens with any table I use, regardless of
definition if it has more than two editable columns. It actually
happened on multiple occasions in a class of students where each
student had his/her own database with different table definitions.
Here is an example where it happens:

CREATE TABLE person (
email TEXT PRIMARY KEY,
first TEXT NOT NULL,
last TEXT NOT NULL,
country TEXT,
city TEXT,
sex VARCHAR( 6 )
);

I could rewrite the Frame control in Gambas. That way it will look the 
same whatever the widget theme is. But it won't follow the widget theme 
anymore, so other people may rant.

Can you send a dump of your database? Not all the contents, but at least 
the table definition.

Dear all,

I'm having a weird "Out of bounds" error in the DataBrowser. I'm using
the DataBrowser with a PostgreSQL database to edit tables. The error
occurs only if I add a new row (with a click on the empty row), enter
data for a few columns, then go back to edit some previous column and
then press enter to store the whole row.

For example if I have the following table:

table | Col A | Col B | Col C
----------------------------------

And enter data in a new row, say:


table | Col A | Col B | Col C
----------------------------------
           Val 1 | Val 2 | Val 3

Then (before storing the row) go back to edit say Col A:

table | Col A | Col B | Col C
----------------------------------
           Val 4 | Val 2 | Val 3

An then move to Col C and press enter to store the row I get an Out of
Bounds Error. Weirdly, the row gets stored in the table, but the app
crashes...

What am I doing wrong?

what I need to get is the current keyboard layout
maybe I wasn't clear while putting my problem, so I"ll try to explain more
I want to check my current keyboard layout so if its Arabic, it would be changed to English (in some textboxes) and vices versa.
i.e I want to use English in some textboxes and Arabic in others, and I want that to be done through a code to check Keyboard layout and change it if needed or keep it if no need to change it

so another problem appeared,
I need to detect if language is Arabic or English 
I can't find a solution for that

Hello
I'm trying to change system keyboard layout by pressing a key
I can't find the right code for doing so
please help
I usually press Alt+Shift to change keyboard from English to Arabic and vice
versa, but I need to program it to a button in my project
I tried: 
system.language ="ar-EG" 
but it would change system locale not the keyboard layout
I tried to code Alt+Shift in a button but also didn't work
any ideas please...

As Benoit asked you, to be able to answer your questions, you need to

This is useful for future research [1]
If you register up and repeat the question, I can attach the database file
you requested.
Note that I also don't have the CD but the example is attached to the
Gambas to compile, in the folder app > examples

placed a Textbox at the bottom in a Frame called SQL request.

During the instructions detailing how the program "works" there is the
following quote:

"we set the enabled properties for both program forms to TRUE and place some
default text in the SQL request box at the bottom of the FMain form:

frmDatabase.Enabled = TRUE
frmRequest.Enabled = TRUE
txtRequest.Text ="Show Tables"

1. At this point my problem is that there are no forms called frmDatabase or
frmRequest.

2. My next problem is that the Textbox does not accept multi-lines.

The code for the "RUN Button" (next to the SQL Request text box is:

well the solution are easyle! puff:

1) unsubscribe all the people subscribed to that list? if not then:
2) and then set the subscription by approval? event auto approbed by email!
if not them
3) to complete, all the messages put them by moderation!

the idea its to limit all the list actions.. and maybe put a automesage!

You state that the list is deprecated but people are still posting to 
it. If deprecated, the list need to be 'stopped'. Also, I am not able to 
send to the list that you state is the replacement: messages are 
rejected. When I try to subscribe to the new list, nothing happens and I 
still cannot send to it.
