The only way I have been able to guarantee UTF for everyone is to add the following to httpd.conf: AddDefaultCharset utf-8 This sets the charset in the http header, and overrides *all* other charset indications (such as those in META). Once this is set, things are great! (in all browsers I have ever seen, including Konqueror) Also, depending on your RDBMS, be sure to check that it is also set to UTF-8 (or UNICODE). Many (such as postgres) default to SQL_ASCII. This rarely matters, except for some ODBC drivers and sql shells. > > Well, I just tested bit more and I found the solution.
