There's a lot to be done. I have code that shows XML-RPC can be used, but it's really not for mass consumption. If I were to tackle this, I would need to start with use cases. What do people want in a XML-RPC/SOAP interface? So far, we have two, the project that I'm working on, and GR2. What else do people want? Then there are also system requirements on the server side to worry about. Right now, XML-RPC is PHP 4.1 and later, and is an optional component. The PHP manual says that XML-RPC is experimental. I also have more research to do on my own, such as learning more about G2, so hopefully I can create an interface that's mostly compatable between G1 and G2. > Regarding G1, even though GR 1.x will continue to use the ad-hoc > protocol, I'm sure other users/projects/applications could use your > XML-RPC to access Gallery, and we should talk about integrating what you > have in a later point-release, if Beckett, John and Joan agree. ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ |
