I can see how being annoyed can cause our wording to "Sound" irate - as I think my own did in starting this thread. I apologise to you all for having sent that without first calming down and letting the ideas settle. My irritation was not actually all because of that difficulty. I had had a frustrating night (few days actually) trying to get settings in my Gallery to work. Am I being too naive in believing that the barrier could still be high but stated in a nicer way? Could it not be written firmly but from the positive point of view. eg "This page is for TEXT contributions to the DOCUMENTATION of the Gallery Project. If you are looking for a place to upload your photos, > you need to go to the #gallery chatroom on irc.freenode.net and type in > > ~url codex-upload > > You'll receive the url to the real upload page from an automated user > called "gallery-bot". It will look like this: > > you: ~url codex-upload > gallery-bot: http://example.com/Upload > ======= Then follow with directions :- "To Upload TEXT CONTRIBUTIONS for Codex." Bharat, this is not saying I would be unwilling to help in sifting if that is necessary, but I think the wording should be in a positive vein. I can see that with such a public feature, giving the instructions can be both complex and "risky". Is it possible for the page to be set to not accept images? or are there time when images are an essential part of the documentation?
