I recently upgraded my main workstation to Fedora fc15, and now I have a major browser problems. I've been using galeon for what feels like forever and prefer it over firefox, seamonkey, google-chrome, opera, and the others I've tried. And I have a set of useful bookmarks that would take a loooooong time to hand edit and copy to a new browser. Not to mention passwords. Now even before doing the install, I realized that there was no galeon rpm in the distribution, but I have many years experience recompiling packages to 'non-supported' releases and I didn't anticipate any major "problems." OK, I was wrong. So some questions: 1. First, has anyone figured out (or done) a port to fc15 at this point? 2. Failing that, does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? (I know it has to use the current release of firefox, but I don't know if the jump to firefox 5 broke that permanently. I'm also wondering whether there are other problems I haven't run into out. I DID try installing (in parallel) the last fc14 version of firefox on this machine and setting MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME to k, but it didn't seem to help.) 3. Finally, if all else fails, I need to convert my bookmarks, cookies, and saved passwords from my $HOME/.galeon directory so that I can use them with another browser (either seamonkey or firefox). Does a utility already exist? If not some suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance, - wwa -- william w. austin ai...@at...
