I'm using here gaim-libnotify 0.8. The timeout clock
inside the notification is nice, but it uses a non
transparent background. So that there is a white
square with the grey clock inside.

This is OK, when libnotify uses a white window, but
with dapper drake's yellow popups it doesn't look that
good.

It would be great if the outer rim of the graphic would
be transparent and the grey clock becomes white over
the time.

    Thanks for the feedback.

The popups are drawn by notification-daemon, including
    background color and clock.

So, that problem is probably a bug with
    notification-daemon[1], or with some ubuntu-specific
    costumization of notification-daemon.
