I'm having quite some trouble finding all the libraries
Gabber requires, especially as rpms. Would you please
release a static rpm of the newest version?
I'd like to know how to consistently get a statically
compiled Gabber. If it were easy for me, you'd have one
right now, but the entire reason there isn't one is that I
haven't been able to make one.

Except your problem there has nothing to do with static
RPMs. Go read the bug reports, chances are one of libsigc++,
gtkmm, gnomemm was not built for your distro (which is Red
Hat 7 according to the gabber RPM you have)

All;
Gabber fails to start at all for me.
The error:
$ gabber
gabber 0.8.7
gabber: relocation r: gabber: undefined symbol:
connect__Q23Gtk9ProxyNodePQ23Gtk6ObjectPCcPFv_vPQ24SigC8SlotDatab
My installed code:
kernel-2.4.9-3
gabber-0.8.7-1_rh7.i386.rpm
gnomemm-1.2.2-1.ximian.1.i386.rpm
gtkmm-1.2.8-1.ximian.1.i386.rpm
libsigc++-1.0.4-1.ximian.1.i386.rpm
libsigc++-devel-1.0.4-1.ximian.1.i386.rpm
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers;
