I downloaded and burned the new 2.0 ISO image to a CD.=20 I have been running an old Dell Optiplex GX-110, and using the older = 1.17 (single-floppy) version for backups of my hard drive with no problems. When booting from the CD my machine goes through the normal g4u boot process, but then blanks the monitor screen and freezes. I suspected that it was having a problem with the video setup (I have an = old ATI card in one of the PCI slots, and the BIOS set to auto detect which = one is connected). To check, I set BIOS to disable video auto-autodetect, which disables = the PCI card, move the video cable to the on-board connector, and g4u then finishes the boot process and presents the standard help screen. This is not a problem with the original single-floppy version (1.17), = and I would prefer not have to change the BIOS video setup to use g4u. Is there any information that I can supply to help troubleshoot this difference? Thanks |
