After speaking with a friend and fellow user of G4L, I
pointed out how I was not so keen on the procedure to
restore a backup.
In my personal case, I have a imaged a HD, and the
files are split into 2gb files on an external usb HD.
The files have been compressed etc.
I sugest the following:
When you create a backup, an .inf file is created about
exactly how the backup was done (All this is mainly
just to refer back to), comments etc could be added if
required.
Additionally a .G4L file which holds all information on
the source when you need to restore.
Thus just select for example, SLES9_100606.G4L and it
automatically knows what compression was used, how many
files and filenames etc when restoring.
I feel this is a far better and smoother approach.
Kind regards
