Thanks for your reply and the new version. Did a couple of quick tests and it appears, that some issues have been fixed, others not yet. Please take the following as constructive criticism/question. The current status of FFB, or at least the loader and patch format issues, is imho in a bad state, which leaves this great software hardly usable. I understand that, as you don’t have a Mk1/Mk2 anymore, it makes it extremely difficult for you to test any changes and have to rely on users input (which...
Just posted an updated Katana_MK2_FxFloorBoard for linux, and I have hopefully addressed a couple of your issues. I don't have a Katana Mk2 or Mk1 any more, so unable to do a true test. From your last conversation on the list of issues: 1:Mk1 sysx files are not compatible with Mk2, as they are quite different in structure, although .tsl files are able to be converted Mk1<>MK2<>Gen3. If you have Mk1 .syx files, you may need to open them in the Mk1 version of the editor, then export them as Mk2 *.tsl...
Thanks for your ongoing support. I would love to see the other issues I mentioned also being addressed and am happy to give you feedback for the Linux version, when I geet the time to test it.
I have just updated the Windows version, and now made the text fonts auto size into dialog frames. The Linux version update will come over the next few days. Cheers
Well, it did it again. I think it doesn't either like some filenames for some reason, if they are fairly short no problem, but over 10 characters with a few too many Capitol letters, - and _ characters, and it crashes. Could just be my system, so permission not allowed or something not ticked the right way. Anyway, if I use short names, I am fine. Thank you for your awesome program!!
Nevermind, it fixed itself and it running fine now, LOL!!!
I am having the same issue with my Boss GT-1 (My second, the cat spilled water on my first one, oof!!). My first Boss GT-1 worked fine, this one was crashing intermittently with firmware 1.08, and then it wouldn't save at all, just crash with a zsh (segment dump) error. So upgraded the firmware on the newer unit t 1.09, and after some device not recognized etc, a reboot fixed most of those, but I still get a crash and exit every time I try and save. I am running a dual-boot system with Linux Mint...
Great job! Floorboard is up and running stable. Thank you for taking the time to make it work. As for the loader issues I originally mentioned in this post, some still exist. On my old Katana MK 1, I saved the patches in a bundle file as .tls and .syx. Trying to import them with the current Floorboard version, I have following issues. The "Open patch loader bundle file .tsl" menu entry only offers .syx files to be opened. Trying to open a .syx file results in the following error message: This device...

Back again after working away on a few new Linux rebuilds, and now have updated the Katana Mk2 and GO versions to try. Lots of library files bundled with them so should cover many Linux incarnations from Ubuntu 20-04 onwards.
Close, but not there yet. $ ./Katana-MK2-FxFloorBoard ./Katana-MK2-FxFloorBoard: symbol lookup error: /home/XXX/Katana_Mk2_FxFloorBoard_FW2_linux/Katana_MK2_FxFloorBoard_linux/lib/libc.so.6: undefined symbol: __nptl_change_stack_perm, version GLIBC_PRIVATE
and yet another update to the linux version, this time a good build with all required library files. possibly success at last !!, which will flow on to all the other linux versions of FxFloorboard.
I just uploaded another with added libs, but it had issues stripping the excess libs, I am looking for a resolve to that. It may work (or not ?)
Hi Colin, thanks for your reply. Here's my specs: Katana 50 MK2 Firware 2.0 Ubuntu Studio 25.04 64-bit Gnome Version 48 Windowing System Wayland. Libicu74 isn't available, but libicu76 is already installed. Here's the error message: $ ./Katana-Mk2-FxFloorBoard ./Katana-Mk2-FxFloorBoard: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.74: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory As you're offering a static build, wouldn't it be possible to insert all required binaries? Am an IT...
Hi , Depends on which version of Ubuntu you have, but if the lib file is required, install the library file from terminal. sudo apt update sudo apt install libicu74 The latest build is what is called a static binary, so the /lib files are included in the binary file (may notice the binary file is much larger than the previous version. loader_save.syx is the collection of your patches used in the "path loader" function, which are saved under the generic file name if a specific file name is not chosen....
First of all, thank you for your ongoing support of this software. Unfortunately, the program won't start, as it can't load libicui18n.so.74. As it appears, the folder "lib" is missing in this build. Compared to an older installation further folders and files are missing as well: plugins AppRun qt.conf loader_save.syx (Possibly created with first save of patches) loaderSave.syx (Possibly created with first save of patches) temp-X.syx (Possibly created with first save of patches)
Katana linux version now uploaded, I don't have a Katana any more, so need you to let me know if it works OK. Reason for the expiry was due to a couple of pirates making money from selling my software, and the buyers were led to believe I was the seller as i was referred to by them for after sales product support. It was a means to make their CD's or downloads obsolete, but it didn't work, and cased more problems for myself.
Hi Colin, could I kindly ask for a new, working Katana FxFloorBoard MK2 build for Linux? And what is the idea behind the expiry date for the program? Cheers and thanks in advance
That's fantastic, and appears to have fixed the random crashing out! I use this every day. Big thumbs up and thank you from the UK :)
Hi Derek, Done some more work on the Linux version the past couple of days and made a few changes, midi controllers are working great now, even the Bluetooth Boss EV-1wl pedal. Made changes to the midi I/O modules which no longer run under a separate thread. I hope the latest (20250821) works good for you Cheers Colin.
Thanks for the info, can I ask which connection option is selected in the USB/Midi menu ? Will either be KATANA:GO:KATANA:GO or KATANA:GO:Midi:Bluetooth regardless of whether a USB cable is connected or not Cheers
Hi, thank you, that's fantastic. Like the smaller font look by default too :) However, after running it for about 15 minutes or so, I get this (no longer a seg fault): floorBoardDisplay::autoConnect() x 1 system data received "F0411001050D1210013000003FF7" malloc(): unsorted double linked list corrupted Aborted This is on Ubuntu Studio 24.08.

Hi Derek, I have just updated the Linux version, with a new computer rebuild, have been able to now build the app as a single stand-alone binary, also working well with Bluetooth (in the USB-Midi settings). If modes or settings are changed, the app does automatically restart to apply new settings, and may restart a couple of times to apply the correct preference settings for the first time run. Cheers and let me know if you find this an improvement, the time limits have been removed too.
Thank you very much for your quick answer.
CTRL1 and CTRL2 pedals are controlled each Patch in the Pedal/Wah menu under the Pedal/FX section. CTRL3 and CTRL4 external pedals can only be set by System.
Hello, I'm trying to configure the CTL pedals on my GT-10B and I cannot find a way to do it. I've found in the System Settings a panel with internal and external pedals but it works only in Sytem mode. Where is the Master/Pedal FX configuration panel in FX FloorBoard to configure the CTL pedals in Patch mode ? Best regards, Fred
could you post a link, or let me know when completed?
to get by the date restriction is to wind back the current date on your computer, then run the app
PS. Any chance the random crashing can be fixed? It was fine a while back, but subsiquent updates caused it to crash, sometimes after a few secoinds, sometimes longer. I tried it on different machines and different Linux distros but it was the same on all. Seg Fault.
Ok, no problem. Is there a way to use it/bypass the date restriction until then? It's currently not letting me use it at all.
it would be awesome if you did. a really good app.
not sure understand the question "looking through midi ox files" ? The Pocket GT does not have any external connectivity except with Boss type Bluetooth pedals, and the connection protocol used is yet to be reverse engineered. Some effort is being done to add midi controllers to the app, but this part is currently incomplete. Cheers
Hi, I have just updated the Windows and Mac versions, but having some trouble with the Linux version, so it is going to take a little while before it too gets updated. Cheers
looking through the midi ox files which one is to control with midi footswitch.
Hi, I downloaded the latest version, and it's still telling me to download the latest version. This is the Katana Go version, running on Ubuntu.
Hi Ya, I see I may have used an older previous release source code to build the latest version, will fix that up soon. Cheers
cool program.is there a way to connect mvave chocolate midi controller to it with windows. say a map key or something.
Hello Colin, I now have a Katana 50 MK2 and am trying to import the patches that I saved on my MK1. By doing so, I ran into following issues: Can't open .syx files from FxFloorBoard for Katana 50 MK1, but only .syx file types are offered, when choosing "Open patch loader file .tsl" from the menu. Adding the first patch to the Loader will be added at the second entry, not the first. Can't resize the "Write/Sync" window. The window will increase in size, when patches are added to an extend where the...
HI Colin. Thak sfor letting me knmow about the uopdsate kuch appreciated.. Previous version working fine '
Hi Colin, thank you very much, it works great!
Hi Rob, GT-100FxFloorBoard has now been updated and ready to try out. Let me know if it works fine (or not) had to build this one on an older distro for Linux (since my current Linux machine has crashed and burned).
