Dear Fuse Team, I am a CS graduate student, and am exploring the possibility of implementing a user space file system using FUSE. I looked into sample file system implementations that are provided by FUSE. However, I haven't quite understood the purpose of the function pointer fuse_fill_dir_t in the readdir function. Upon searching a little more, I discovered its implementation using fill_dir_common. A portion of the code, as I understand involves updating st_ino value. However, what is the purpose of fuse_dirent functions? What is that this function (fill_dir_common) is trying to achieve on the whole? I want you help me in this such that I can implement it correctly in my case. I am trying to implement all these function calls on a remote machine and make fuse client make calls to remote server. Is there a way I can achieve the effect of filler method present in readdir in the remote implementation. Any suggestions or ideas? Regards, Harshil Shah |
