This is not really true: 1) You can create filesystem with perfect UNIX sematics, _if_ files cannot be modified from the outside. Note: most non-network filesystems are of this variety. 2) You can use the raw kernel interface of FUSE, or wait until the inode based library interface is ready. There are contributions in this area that you can reuse, just search the list archives. Miklos |
