Hello, my coworker is working with a desktop computer which has /home mounted via NFS from the local file server. For some project I wrote a script which mounts a directory from our web server with sshfs. That works without problems on my computer as sshfs used to do. But on his computer it fails and leaves the mount point in an unusable state until next reboot. I cannot paste the error message here because he's not in the office at the moment. I expect you're familiar with that issue. If necessary I'll supply the message later. Unfortunately I could find a solution which would allow him to mount sshfs in his /home. I tried [1] but it didn't help. However, I am pretty sure that it's a problem with NFS because any mount point outside /home works, e.g. a folder in /tmp (this is not a possible solution). Can you explain what the actual problem with NFS mount points is and what we could do about it? If there is no solution at this time can we expect one to appear soon? Please send replies with CC to me because I didn't subscribe to the list.
