I use Emacs on OS X to edit a perl script on a Linux server mounted using SSHFS. Then on the Linux server I try to run the script, and it often complains "Text file busy". If I run lsof, I see that the file is still open by the sftp-server process. The quickest workaround I've found is to unmount and remount the filesystem (it's just a couple of clicks with MacFusion). Any idea why the server keeps the file open after Emacs is done writing it? It doesn't happen all the time, and I haven't noticed a pattern to when it does, nor can I make it happen on demand. |
