Hello, I'm working on an overlay fs, and working on an lowlevel version of it. I do not know how to deal with changes in the underlying fs. For example a readdir call, this call results in a buffer filled with dirent types. Now my fs is able to add entries and inodes (of my fs not the underlying!) when these do not exist yet. But what to do when a file (or a directory) is removed, while there is an inode and entry created by my fs for this entry. Do I have to program it in my fs, everywhere in my fs when it appears that in the underlying entries are changed or deleted, or is this done by the VFS subsystem in the kernel? Stef |
