Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Playing Out TAP files Initial Comment: Firstly, thanks for making this, about the only real alternative for Speccy Emulation for OSX. :) I actually own a Spectrum and I would like to be able to load some of these files I find on the internet, after testing them in this emulator. It *seems* like you have menu options for loading Tapes and then be able to "Play" them which I imagined would have played the tape noise out of the speakers (headphone) that I could have connected my Speccy to... But it does not seem to work that way, not on my Intel Mac with 10.5, anyway. (Should it?) There seems to be a few of this "Emulator to Real Spectrum" solutions available for PC / Windows but nothing for OSX that I can see. Could you please add this functionality into Fuse so I can use my MacBook Pro as an expensive Cassette Tape Player. ;-) Thanks, Mark Jelic markg [at] jelic [dot] com [dot] au ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Fredrick Meunier (fredm) Date: 2008-09-02 21:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=11017 Originator: NO You can already send the tape output to the speakers, turn off all loading acceleration options (use tape traps, fast tape loading), make sure your emulation speed is 100% and load a tape in the emulated spectrum. I'm not sure if that is enough to work with loading a tape into an attached Spectrum, you will need your volume up to 100% as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-09-02 21:36 Message: Logged In: NO >it is a command line tool though so you will need to be comfortable running it from the Terminal program. Unfortunately, I am not, despite trying to read various websites on how to use Terminal and running command line applications. :( Well, all I can hope is that you reconsider, for us not-so-technical folk. (You could make a Preference that makes the Tape -> Play menu send the tape out to the speakers? :) Thanks again for the Emulator, at any rate. Cheers, Mark ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Fredrick Meunier (fredm) Date: 2008-08-31 22:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=11017 Originator: NO I don't believe the emulator is the place for this type of functionality, the Tape->Play menu is about starting the virtual tape playing in the emulator and is mostly used when the tape loading acceleration is turned off. You can play tape files with the playtzx utility available at WoS at ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/tools/mac/osx/playtzx-0.12b.tar.gz, it is a command line tool though so you will need to be comfortable running it from the Terminal program. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=893314&aid=2085047&group_id=180469 |
