A virtual keyboard on a floating window, pressing the respective keys the layout change, so the users can select all the desired keys.
By pressing on the virtual keyboard, with the mouse, the respective function-key the keyboard layout changes the output chars in the emulator.
A floating windows, for me, is the best solution for this emulator so the users can move it on the desired place in the desktop, then point and click on the image and the letter, symbol or command will appare in the emulator window like a real ZX keyboard.

It is not possible to use a computer like Spectrum, which had a keyboard with predefined keys, without a window that shows a real Sinclair keyboard that can be controlled using the mouse.
Keep in mind that the beautiful aspect of the ZX was that, from a professional and educational point of view, to have a keyboard with the commands available at the push of a button. So I am very kind to ask you to try to implement a virtual keyboard in the wake of what is currently implemented on the VirtualC64 emulator that works well and allows full use. Needless to have everything working and having to suffer to find a key ...
