Welcome to the 'Honeymoon Suite' for new members. Joining a new project can be a little daunting for a lots of different reasons. This forum has been created with new members in mind so that they can get to know existing members outside of the main forums and get help with the usual 'new to a project' problems such as
- getting your development environment set up
- getting a build going
- getting source control issues sorted
- etc.
So when you your debugger bombs out on you or subversion locks you out, let off some steam here!!!

I joined this project today. I am using Windows XP as my OS. Do I need to install Linux to contribute to this project ? First thing I did was to download Tortoise SVN client. Now it is a shell extension so it is not giving me an option to check-out entire project. So when I run the command "svn co https://frogface.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/frogface frogface" this as expected does nothing.
Please help me in getting this code base come on my PC. One more thing this is my first project for SF.net so I dont know any thing about this development environment. Would be thankful if somebody who has documented his firsthand experience of SF.net and can share the same with me.
Thanks,
Eternal Zombie

Hi, I'm another new member just joined in the project.
@Eternal Zombie
You don't really need Linux to contribute. Since the project will be using Qt, it is suppose to be able to run in Windows, Mac and Linux.
In order to check out using Tortoise SVN, just create a folder and check out the project under that folder. I think you also need to try update (to fetch from SourceForge). Sorry I can't give you more information right now since I'm not using the same developing machine.

Apologies for the delay in replying to your forum post I hadn't switched on the monitoring for this forum. What wkit23 has just said is correct. No need for Linux, you can develop on windows as well. I'm going to try and get a unified set of instructions for people setting up on Windows soon. There is a good article at

Hi Eternal Zombie,
Apologies for the delay in replying to your forum post I hadn't switched on the monitoring for this forum. What wkit23 has just said is correct. No need for Linux, you can develop on windows as well. I'm going to try and get a unified set of instructions for people setting up on Windows soon. There is a good article at

[Just to note, you don't need to compile in SQL Lite for our project].
FYI wkit23, I've just added you to the project developer list.
Cheers,
