Hi Ian, Others, I've experienced crashing of Firefox, specifically Iceweasel 3.0.5 on a Lenny debian distro when re-loading a freewrl image .. it seems to occur 1 out of 5 times .. maybe more often. I know I've mention this to John and others .. and I think John said they had some fixes coming for this .. but it still crashes in 1.22.0 Freewrl .. same behaviour. I also reported recently (although at the end of an email .. might have been missed) that the crashing seems not to occur with non-motif compile from source of Freewrl (I think it's the X11 option?). Instead what I get is frequently (closer to 50% of the time) the loading of a image (I guess I should say 'world') with the Freewrl plugin produces a blank page. You can re-load the world multiple times and 50% of the time it's a blank page .. but at least it does not crash firefox. Again, this is a Debian Lenny install. Hope this info helps. Cheers! I have two giesses: > > 1.- firefox has already died and so the window no longer exists > 2.- freewrl starts rendering to the window before the window (that > firefox gave to freewrl to use) was ready to go -- ie, there's a race > condition between the two and half of the time freewrl wins (and firefox > shoots itself for losing) > > Anyone know which issue it might be? how to debug it? how to fix it? > > Ian > > > _______________________________________________ > FreeWRL mailing list > Fr...@cr... > > |
