Deepak, I can't help you either directly. I'm curious as the status of this project. Does anybody know? That and "Overflow" as well. I haven't tried to compile it either. I'm looking around at what's available and this and Gnome Voice Control / Sphinx2 are the only things I have found to be close to viable. I'd like to set up a system that also trains. -- Michael Bonnet. I need an Automatic Speech Recognition program to transcribe sermons of a pastor who has died -- one that will allow his sermon speeches to train the speech recognition engine. Or, that will let me put in each of his words one by one until I totally build the speech recognition engine with his voice. Do you know of some software that will do that for me well? It would be kind of like Speech to Text or Wave to Text type software -- but better -- software that actually works well. - Stephen |

Hi, my name is Chris Covington and I'm interested in helping develop speech recognition software. While my coding skills in other languages are rather lacking, I can write in Java and am interested in writing the web-based reporting tool. Has anyone started on this already? If so, whom should I talk to? I not, what exactly will this reporting feature be doing? Chris Covington |

Hi Prasanth, This is not going to be a quick answer to your problem but if you want to read about a research grade system, look at the HTK toolkit. http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/ For this kind of command and control operation you will not need any language modeling, just the acoustic modeling part of the system. Cheers, Luc prasanth .... wrote: >hi.. >I am a 2nd year undergraduate student studying in >IIT(Indian Institute of Technology). > As a part of my project , I has written a >program in C in Unix platform. ,and now I need to add >speech interface to it.I need to add simple voice >commands like "send" , "close" etc. > As I have very little idea about Speech >Recognition , can I get predefined libraries which can >be included in C code. > thanx > > > > >__________________________________ >Do you Yahoo!? >Friends. Never mind, I found the download area. But one thing I'm not sure about yet is - can you query the KB using natural language? Mayb I'll be able to figure that out sometime soon too. Joe |

I'm curious to know what format the common sense information is stored in. If you have a way to convert the submissions people give to some semantic representation, do you have a way to play around & query the knowledge base? I'd like to check it out. Also, what are the licensing terms for the KB, is it GPL? Joe |

Hello everyone, I am looking for a FREE speech recognition software. All I need is something that can recognize 2 to 3 word phrases. My step son is handicap and I am working on developing something that can help him operate something such as his wheelcahir with a simple command. His speech is very limited as well as mobility, so that is why the simple 2 to 3 word phrases. Any help on the software would be greatly appreciated. -----Original Message----- From: fre...@li... I have a neighbor down the road who is visually impaired. I am a fairly proficient programmer, but before I re-invent the wheel, I want to find out if the software he wants is already avaiable. He has a band, and he does the recording engineer stuff to produce thier CD's on their computer. I want to be able to write (Java perhaps?) software that can run on a Windows operating system that will let a blind user, with little or no keyboard input, use voice commands in a head set to capture audio clips, name them, convert them to mp3 or ogg format, master a CD iso image, input descriptions of the songs for an online music store and the liner notes for the album, and publish an online web store where the CD images or individual tracks can be downloaded and / or CD's ordered. I think such a package could sell for over $1000 if I were selling it, but the initial development I want to do as a favor to my new neighbors, for a percentage of any CD sales and rights to redistribute the software. I might offer a free version for download and if someone wanted an installed system on hardware that I sold I could tack on a software purchase agreement with a hardware system that I resold.
