When executing a text search, matching nodes will be unfolded. Searching on with Shift Strg G jumps to the next matching node, leaving the last match unfolded. Doing searches thus messes up the existing folding structure of a mindmap.
FreeMind for example restores the folding of the current node when passing to the next matching node. Like this a node is only temporarily unfolded to display the matching node. If one stays at this node and does not go on in the search, the folding state of the node will not be restored. This sounds reasonable to me.

I'm pretty sure we had that functionality at some time: The nodes were unfolded when visited and their foldings state got restored immediately when the next node were selected. I think that's how it should work.

hello Arn,
+1
Workaround: Save before, Use Save folding:=If map is changed, close+reopen afterwards
How de we want to fix this? At which point in time do we want to restore the folding
status from before the search?
Best Regards,
Felix
