Message:
Where and how did you get FreeOrion, what version are you running, what
operating system, is there any log file produced, is there anything on the
console after this error, etc.  Please provide some useful information with
which to attempt to diagnose or fix the issue.  See this post:

That said, this sounds like you've got write permissions set so that save
files and log files and the options file config.xml can' be written.
