Category: None Group: Latest Subversion Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: CTD when starting game Initial Comment: I just downloaded and installed FreeOrion 3.13. The game loads to the main menu OK, but when I try to start a single player game, it briefly shows a screen saying "building AI and universe", then crashes. I can't find the game's log files (looked in the FreeOrion folder in Program Files-didn't see them), but I'm running Windows Vista with a Compaq presario notebook with an embedded graphics card. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Steven B (uscguy) Date: 2009-06-08 13:39 Message: Disabled all of those, and it still crashes. I have an account on here now, so I'm going to make a second bug report under my name and post the log files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Geoff Topping (geoffthemedio) Date: 2009-06-07 17:16 Message: You can also try going into the options menu, galaxy map tab, and disabling fog of war scanlines, optimized system rendering, galaxy map gas rendering and starfields rendering, and then trying again to start a a game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Geoff Topping (geoffthemedio) Date: 2009-06-07 01:53 Message: Log files are in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\FreeOrion on Vista. Please post freeorion.log, freeoriond.log, and ogre.log. If you have a notebook with an embedded graphics card, there's a good chance it doesn't support OpenGL 2.0, which FreeOrion requires. Check what version your card supports, and make sure your graphics drivers are updated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=544942&aid=2802406&group_id=75752 |
